Private Lessons are a great way to "punch-up" your dancing. Get more out of the time spent. While group class and practice are also part of the learning experience, private coaching is paramount. The experience, knowledge and feel are worth every penny. I have taken many, many hours of private instruction with world class coaches to get me where I am today. The triple punch of private instruction, group class and practical application can't be beat.
An initial lesson can include 10 minutes discussing goals and any previous backround. Then 45 minutes learning a few steps and evaluating your strength and weekness. We talk about rhythm, timing, balance, posture, style, variety of moves and dances. At that point we discuss how many hours it might take to achieve your goals.
The cost for private lessons ranges from $90 to $70 per hour. The first hour is 1/2 price, $40 unless you book a 12 hour package, then the first lesson is free!
The bottom line is to learn good dancing but most of all the have FUN!
